  Great service with fantastic food. It was quite busy and my table was given a 45 minute wait on our food (mainly steaks) but we had them within 30 minutes cooked exactly how our table of 6 wanted them. Food pricing was higher than normal but well worth it. Also they have a great price on their liquor. $7 for a Jack and coke! Very satisfied.

  Went to the Newmarket Hotel, Townsville, tonight 24 June for dinner. My husband ordered the Rodeo Steak @ $34.00. It came to the table without any garlic sauce, which was supposed to accompany the dish. When the garlic "sauce" arrived it was runny and unlike any garlic sauce I had ever tasted and hope never to taste again. My guess is it was quickly put together in 2 minutes flat and made with milk, certainly not cream. The $34.00 steak was half meat and half fat and gristle. The table service was very good. A note to the new owners...HIRE A NEW CHEF.

  Ordered the rump, medium rare with peppercorn sauce and arancini balls for an entree. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the hand cut potato chips were light yet crispy. The staff were very friendly and easily approachable. The arancini balls were well presented and had the taste to match. 4.5/5 will be eating here again.

  Tl;dr: new owner, great atmosphere, even better service. Will definitely be back.
  
  Went in as a large group on Friday the 23rd (footy finals) given that it was quite busy we expected it to be slow service. Meals all come out after not even 20 minutes even though we all ordered separately which was amazing as we were starving. Lamb shank is to die for. Finished the night off with a bang in the sports bar watching Cowboys lose spectacularly. The new owner is doing this place wonders and you can tell he's put his head to it.
